Can't say enough good things about this place. From their carefully constructed website to the tour/movie at the end. Tour was quick but fun, the movie was really creative and captivating. Loved the panning for treasure activity (great for kids). Book plenty of time for this. We were here 2.5 hours and you can easily spend up to 3 hours here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Buy tickets in advance and bring ear plugs if you have sensitive ears (some loud noises in the tour and movie).

One of the best museums I had been to. They really did an amazing job of story telling. They also used so much technology to explain stuff while still keeping the story of the mine in focus. Has something for everyone. Hands down, the boom tour was the best part.

The best experience in a museum we have ever had. Everyone loved it from my little kids to my mom. We spent there around 3 hours and we could have spent more time

Fun for the family and also great fun for adults! The tour, which includes a short mountain train ride, a visit and tour of the mine was delightful. Some of the historic buildings with historic equipment were interesting to see and processing building was a wonder to see. Lots of fun. Panning for colourful tiny rocks, included with admission, was also a blast.

Returning to Britannia Museum with family after 3 years and I didn’t know it would be an even better experience! The new interactive simulation in the mill really brought us back in time and appreciate what the mine brought to the world. The new exhibit centre was fun and children friendly. We even got some gold in the gold panning.

The staff was very friendly and informative. We loved the guided BOOM tour as well as the time exploring on our own. My daughter loved panning for gold. Mill 3 was something special. Amazing.

Britannia Mine Museum is a must if you are in the area. Our tour guide was informative and entertaining. It's amazing how the miners survived in those conditions, especially in the earlier days of the mine.Halfway through the tour, I looked up at the main building and realized that it looked familiar from somewhere. I couldn't quite put a finger on it...then it hit me, I looked at my wife and said, I think this place was used in an episode of the X-Files." I asked the tour guide

Honestly, I wasn't sure about attending this museum (I'm not really a museum 'type') But was I ever glad I went. It was very informative, hands-on and interactive. I can't recommend enough. The highlight was the 'Boom' show in Mill#3.

One of the best place to visit with your kids in summer time! The tunnel down there is 12 degree in all seasons, best spot to cool down your mind and the body. We took a yellow train all the way about 5 mins or less. We learnt the process of mining as well as enjoyed the “washing sand” part so much at the end. It’s a adult and children friendly national museum. We will come again once the children grow up and have better understanding of “mining”!
